Mr. Charleston is currently the CIO of DJC Capital Management, LLC, an independent alternative asset management company founded by Mr. Charleston in 2017. From 2013 to 2016, he served as a senior advisor to Global Credit Advisers, LLC (“GCA”), a private, New York-based Registered Investment Adviser which Mr. Charleston Co-Founded in 2008. In 2008, Mr. Charleston and his founding partners launched the Global Credit Opportunities Fund, an alternative fund focused on corporate credit. From 2008 to 2013, as Managing Director and member of the management committee at GCA, he was responsible for covering investments within the healthcare, media, telecommunications and gaming industries.

From 2001 to 2008, Mr. Charleston was Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager at Stonegate Capital Management, LLC, a firm specializing in high yield asset management for high net worth clients and institutional investors.

In 1987, Mr. Charleston began his investment management career with J. & W. Seligman and Company. In 1988, he became the portfolio manager of the Seligman High Yield Bond Fund and a member of its’ fixed income investment policy committee. In 1995, he was named Managing Director and through 2001, grew the firm’s high yield assets under management from $50 million to $4 billion, establishing J. & W. Seligman’s franchise within the high yield market. During his tenure at Seligman, he was a frequent contributor to CNBC, CNN and Bloomberg T.V. for his insights into the high yield marketplace.  At one point in his career, Mr. Charleston ran the best performing high yield fund in the United States as reported by The Wall Street Journal.

In 2002, Mr. Charleston received Kean University’s Distinguished Alumni award in business, and served on the Kean University Foundation Board from 2002 through 2010 as chairman of its’ Finance and Investment Committee. In 2010, in recognition of his contribution, he received the first Lifetime Emeritus Award from the Kean University Foundation. Today, he serves on the board of the Kean University College of Business and Public Management.

Mr. Charleston graduated from Kean University in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in Management Science.
